    Step 7: Service Monitoring

Service Monitoring is the continuous measurement and evaluation of delivered service performance. Data-driven decisions are the key to improving PMO effectiveness.

    KPIs and Metrics

Measurable KPIs should be defined for each service. Metrics should cover the dimensions of: efficiency (time, cost), effectiveness (quality, customer satisfaction), impact (contribution to business results), and usage (number of customers utilizing the service).

    Dashboards and Reporting

Monitoring data should be presented through easy-to-understand dashboards and reports. Different stakeholders (PMO team, management, customers) have different information needs; reporting should reflect these differences.

    Early Warning System

Monitoring mechanisms should include early warning systems that detect issues before they escalate. Trend analysis and threshold values enable proactive intervention.
