    Step 8: Service Improvement

Service Improvement is the continuous enhancement of services based on monitoring results. A continuous improvement culture is the guarantee of the PMO's long-term value generation.

    Continuous Improvement Cycle

The PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle is the fundamental framework for service improvement. Each improvement initiative should be planned, implemented, results checked, and corrective actions taken as needed.

    Root Cause Analysis

Focus should be on root causes of problems, not symptoms. The 5 Whys analysis, fishbone diagram, and Pareto analysis are root cause identification tools.

    Innovation and Redesign

In addition to incremental improvements, some services may require radical redesign. The PMO should evaluate the lifecycle of existing services and, when necessary, terminate services and replace them with new ones.
